Celebrating Oonagh Garrys Appointment to the European Aquatics Technical Water Polo Committee

We are thrilled to announce that Oonagh Garry, Director of Peak Performance Recruitment, has been awarded a prestigious position on the newly appointed European Aquatics Technical Water Polo Committee for the period 2024-2028. The committee is tasked with the development and improvement of all segments of water polo competitions, alongside the promotion of water polo across Europe.

This significant appointment recognizes Oonagh’s exceptional dedication to the sport, and she hopes her sporting and business accomplishments will add value to the committee. The selection is particularly noteworthy as this committee emphasizes gender equality, with four women among its 17 members for the first time. Her expertise and passion for water polo will undoubtedly contribute to the committee’s mission of advancing the sport.

 

Oonagh’s commitment to water polo spans multiple levels, from local clubs to national teams. A member of the National Water Polo Committee since 2022, implementing the National Water Polo Plan and managing the National U17 Irish Water Polo boys’ team. With a three-decade playing career, she captained Diamonds Water Polo Club to victory in the 2024 Irish National Senior Cup. Additionally, her passion for water extends to open water swimming, with record-setting achievements in the North Channel Crossing in 2016 and a 44km relay swim off the East of Ireland in 2023.

Oonagh’s passion for water polo is also shared through her two teenage boys, both of whom are avid water polo players at the regional and national levels.
